To try to make better the fact that the canon asshole is by far the stronger voice in my head than the best protag :(

BELATEDLY, I SHOULD EXPLAIN HERE.
I'm willing to plug Felix into just about any scenario you'd like. If the game went exactly the same but he was there (and we won't worry about stuff that was Alex's fault needing someone to blame), the changes he might have made to the overall gameplay, hell I can pretend Alex is still around too/toss him in if you want. I am honestly entirely unsure who he'd start out aligned with (because outside of Fortune idk which two would have offered), but yes!
Also, Felix is the protag of the second Golden Sun game. He supposedly died three years earlier but it turns out some antagonists trying to save the world (I know) saved him and basically ruined his life by making him work for them against his hometown. He's a nice guy really, but he's pretty self-sacrificial to a fault and doesn't want other people to get caught up in his crap if they don't have to.
Most importantly, he's not Alex. So~!

Aug. 1st, 2014 09:54 pmtenpercent[Tenmyouji had been through a lot of tough times. The last two weeks in this Vandere town had felt particularly eerie, and that was really saying something. Maybe it was because even though the residents tried to act like everything was peaceful and normal, it really felt like something sinister was bubbling beneath the surface. They clearly had a problem being around him, and anyone else who had troubles with them also reported being rescued.
The most disturbing part had only surfaced inside him recently. Something about the locals was...attracting him. And not in the way that would have been more acceptable when he was younger (plus few of these people were high on the EU scale anyway). It was more like being around them made him ready for a good meal, or perhaps a well-kept bottle of scotch. The fact that they wanted to stay away from him was starting to become less annoying, as he was now more comfortable avoiding them.
So, the old man was only trying to approach people he either knew were rescuees or that he could surmise were. Otherwise, old habits died hard and he felt like he needed to support himself just in case. Collecting garbage in a place like this apparently looked suspicious, but at this point he really didn't care anymore. You can probably find him carrying some form of trash that he sees some redeeming value in.
On the offchance a local tries to talk to him, he ignores them. He'll make exceptions for others in his situation, however.]
